Hassane Yarti |
To capture a spark from the sky, a scent to distill,
Perfume from blooms on my balcony’s sill,
A handful of moonlight, a moment to still.
Crafting a hut of patience, all my own,
Waves of calm, storm’s tone,
A beauty called hope, brightly shone.
Cuts through sad steps, slays wishes unseen,
A star that stains the night serene,
A dawn sun to brighten the scene.
A phantom of clouds, inked in moonbeams,
My dark sky’s buttons shattered, it seems,
Concealing whispers, scattering yearning’s streams.
Silence caresses madness, unbound,
A lark pecks crystal corners, profound,
Opens icy windows, scattering them around.
To meet myself where purple streaks cry,
From rituals of absence, a sorrowful sigh,
My spirit spreads as a pearl, aiming for the sky.
On abandonment’s shore, visions lose their grace,
Waves settle, love’s tales interlace,
Perhaps the connection will come like an infant's the lashes,
On the shore where dreams are sailing.
Oh, My jasmine flower,
O fragrance of love and youth,
I have resolved to depart
to the corridors of absence...
Where clothes have tattered
At its paths.
Awaiting the dawn.
From the darkness of the night,
Shrouded in fog.
And the water of a river,
Unwilling to accept the bitterness of reproach.
seeking the embrace of return.
From a silly laughter,
that hides the scars of estrangement’s gloom.
snatched the coldness of the speech.
Hours are etched forever
In torment.
And from hopes lost,
In the paths of hope and reproach.
And from the ruins we approach,
To grasp the truth: an illusion in a mirage.
With verses of guidance and correctness?
To smell your fragrance, oh My jasmine flower,
And the door has not yet been closed on us.
I long to a different form of time,
With you, companion of my path,
Tenderness, tranquility, and the hymns of a poet,
And a breathtaking scene.
STORMING
I spent my life in sadness
And I am more worthy of joy.
But,
It stormed me, my friend
And I was certain,
It was just late
Who restores what is broken inside us?
Bends over laughing
Lending a hand to this damaged
That when you love,
Even time... yes, even time!
...it changes.
When we were young
One day I sat alone and made a decision
I came out of the silence of hearts
I wrote on all paths
"I love you," and I said it aloud
How were we?
And where were we?
How many times have I visited you
and repeated it over and over?
The beginning…
And the eagerness of a newborn child
The breeze of the dear café,
The mail letters
And our bewildered spirits?
Our beautiful love,
The large book of passion
And our drunken eyes?
The passing of noon,
The afternoon meetings,
and how we never drew the curtain over our windows?
That years have passed
And I still chant loyalty as my motto?
Do not forget,
And be with me
So, I can be for you
A green branch that refuses to turn yellow.
YESTERDAY'S ENCOUNTER
Its lifespan was kisses, and the words were whispers,
It did not conclude until the sun rose.
Can yesterday return to me?
All five senses took part,
It was all joy, like a wedding day.
Can I sell my tomorrow for yesterday?
Merged water and embers in the same glass,
It melted souls, my spirit made its offering.
Can today become yesterday?
Like a festive gathering,
An encounter of love,
An encounter of touch.
Can I die, and let yesterday live?
FORGOTTEN TUNES
In a moonless nightI stealthily moved
My sharp pen in hand
Weeping a white tale.
Yearning for the melody of forgotten tunes
That dwell in the soul.
Where are those whom…
I fought with my silent words?
And pens that have faded with time
My letters sway like autumn leaves
Seeking a lost trace
Among the folds of a fading time.
I chase shadows behind the veil of oblivion
To find trembling letters like tree branches
Searching for a vague hope,
To the tune of words,
I see a shroud enveloping the place
And to the sound of the symphony of silence
The hymns have died.
