Poesie in inglese/italiano di Maria
Teresa Infante

1.A Thousand Times Woman
It is a story written with letters of deception.
In the madness of disillusionment
the roots
will sink their feet into your flesh
the nails
congealed in the hands of usurers
will dig holes in your garden
your fruits
will feed cravings twisted around the shell eyes
that you carry on you
- bulky burden, for two bones and a penny -
and they will satiate mouths greedy for saliva,
murky and uninhibited,
sewn around a wild horse.
A thousand times, they will condemn you
and a thousand more they will stab your name
- You will have some to sell or to buy -
they'll call you the way you don't want
besmirching the belly
that cradled the nights
of the sleepers of the blind
when lullabies
dozed
the lavender of the sheets
and died
among the green lemons
of nights pregnant with tides.
A thousand times, they will tear your heart apart
nailing your soul to pain
they will raise crosses
on the Pantheon of Reason
where death will disavow all your guilt
and of love, there will be no more hearing
but only furrows to say it was born.
Thine is the fate
tears of a God who lies
when he wanted you as a daughter, then penitent
when he made you the mother of thy executioner.
Thine is the death, atheist among thy people.
2.
Judea
Tell me, God,
where has the sky gone?
Oh, Judea!
with a soul of clay
cursed
untie my feet, take me by the hand
here there is no water for those whose pitcher is empty.
Judea, Judea
where did you leave your heart?
You did not release virgins and prophets
thou didst not tell stories to those who slept
when the infant did not go far
and crumbs bit between the teeth.
Oh, Judea!
Why do you not return to the world?
There is only a palm of barren soil
on these dead bodies, never resurrected
but on the cross, the repudiated father
will not sell for three coins, his son.
Weep Judea, weep
because the joints rain with blood
and Madonnas have their hair loose.
3.
Feel me
I went down the river,
can't you smell my perfume?
Among its banks, I spread my robes.
I lowered myself, I dipped my flesh,
I gave the water two scraps of skin,
to the stream, the wake of an emotion
and among the reeds, I spread my smile.
I went down the river
but you cannot smell me.
4)
Rondini
Cerco
le rondini
oltre
i miei tetti irti sulle antenne
dove
grondaie piovono patimenti
in
questo inverno
che
mostra solo un grumo di cemento.
Loculi
a vista
senza
spalmarne i giorni
premono
d’incessante
mutamento.
Seguo
le rondini
dove
d’immenso il cielo resta certo
mentre
la nebbia
più non dirada il muro d’esistenza.
Swallows
I’m looking for swallows
over my roofs bristling on the antennas
where gutters they drop sufferings
in this winter
showing only a lump of concrete.
Visible niches
without smearing days
press of constant change.
I follow the swallows
where the immense sky remains certain
while the fog
does not disperse the wall of existence anymore.
5)
DignitÃ
Ho sciolto lacrime legate ai sentimenti
le ho rese libere, lasciate in
mezzo ai campi,
tra zolle e sassi hanno trovato
pace
e chiuso gli occhi si sono
addormentate.
Se arrivo a giugno spalanco i miei granai
“Venite donne! Portate i figli
vostri
che le mie braccia ricolme di
covoni
hanno il sapore e i graffi della
terra,
la dignità si miete senza falce.
Venite donne: ho aperto i miei granai.”
Dignity
I dissolved tears related to feelings.
I set them free, left them in the middle of the
fields,
among clods and stones, they found peace
and closed my eyes, they fell asleep.
If I arrive in June, I will open my granaries.
“Come, women! Bring your children.
Because my arms are full of sheaves
they have the taste and the scratches of the earth,
one reaps dignity without a scythe.
Come, women: I have opened my granaries.”
